Enjoy time off

The kids had Monday off because of President's Day
I always enjoy having the kids home, no schedules,
late breakfast and lazy days.
The weather has been quite beautiful lately.
It feels more like spring instead of winter.
We went to the park, rode bikes and enjoyed each other.
Huntley had a fall at the park and woke up with a huge bruise on his chin.

24th Celebration

Pioneer days in Snowflake is one of my favorite times of the year! I get to see people I haven't seen in a while, enjoy the parade, hang out with family, eat, go to rodeo, enjoy fireworks and other festivities going on!

This was the first year Seth was able to come and enjoy the festivities! The parade was awesome with home town feeling, home made floats and it ended with a down pour of rain!

Patiently waiting to get in the bubble!

The kids loved these bubbles! We got to see fast cars and hang out!! It was a great weekend!

4th of July

It was so nice to have Seth home for the 4th of July! We watched the parade and rode around in the RZR. We went to a BBQ at my brothers house where the kids got to play on the enormous water slide! Ate good food and enjoyed each others company!

This time of year I always reflect on my parents. I miss them, I miss hearing my dad on the phone with my mom that if she doesn't hurry up (he was always on time she was always late) she isn't going to make it. I miss their togetherness. I miss their laugh, their smile, my dad wearing his cowboy hat and boots, my moms cooking, their hugs, the sound of their voice pretty much everything about them!

We ended a sweet day with a fireworks show watched from our back porch!

The time has come

There is never a dull moment in the Gaston house with these two around

This is the scene at Margaret's (aka Granny's) retirement party
She has been an intrical part of the community for 24 years
She is hanging up her boots to enjoy the good life whatever that maybe
She has given so much and now it is time to enjoy her time

My kids were the only kids at the party
They took full advantage and soaked up all the attention
Riley seranded us to the words of "Silent Night" almost the whole time
She couldn't get enough of being in front of everyone
I was surprised how comfortable she was on stage
Huntley didn't want to miss out so he pretended to fix things with his tools!
Jesse mostly slept and wanted to eat anything he could put in his mouth!

Us

My computer hasn't been working properly so I have slacked a lot.
We got family pictures over the holiday break.
I think they turned out amazing.
As I look at them I realize my children are growing up.
Riley is in all day kindergarten and Huntley wants to go to school but hasn't quite mastered
going to the bathroom yet.
I know he will come around to the idea on his terms of course.

Seth has been busy at work and as for me I am trying to keep
up with life that seems to be passing me by rather quickly.
I love staying home with my kids even though some days I
break down and cry.

I love....

**While we were sitting down to breakfast this morning, I started to think, I love my life.

**I love that when Huntley wakes up in the middle of the night the only thing that calms him is me.

**I love that as much heart ache Riley gives me I still think of her as my sweet angel.

**I love my husband and all he does for our family.

**I love how Riley loves ketchup and how she is dipping her toast in it right now and eating it.

**I love how Huntley immitates everything that his sister does including dipping his fruit in ketchup as well.

**I love even though Riley and Huntley fight at the end of the day they love each other and they show it.

**I love what an amazing father Mr. Gaston is.

**I love my life.  The End.

I love days

Don't you love days when you can sleep in the morning, take your time making breakfast and let your children do whatever without having a care in the world?  Me too, those days are usually Sunday's my favorite day of the week, mostly because that is
Mr. Gaston's day off and we really don't have much to do except go to church meetings.  This past Sunday was a rather good day.  We woke up and it was beautiful outside. Riley wanted to go outside to
ride her bike but she didn't want to put any clothes on....so the solution to that ride the bike in the house while singing a
song she made up saying how much she loved her daddy,
mommy and brother Huntley, and then her version of
Happy Birthday to herself.
Huntley he just wanted to be where I was and for some reason he has an obsession with my kitchen whisks.
He was entertained for hours with a bowl of water and the whisk.

Ohh lights

The kids were very excited about the lights this year, so excited in fact that they (meaning Riley) plugged them into the wall drug it across the floor, pretended Huntley was a horse, whipped it around until it didn't work anymore.  She informed me this morning "mom those don't work anymore, I broke them."
They had a good time while doing it so can I really get mad?

Admiring the lights while Mr. Gaston got them prepared to go outside.  Huntley would stand in front of the snowman and just make his excited noises and then mess with his nose, then walk away, and then come back and do his noises again...it was cute.  Riley was playing with that same strand of colored lights and would not let Huntley anywhere NEAR the lights and if he came close she would just push him out of the way...so he made a lot of screaming and crying noises as well.

That little puff of fluff on the floor, that is a dog that was given to Riley last year for Christmas.  She loved it well until she decided she had enough of it.  Now Huntley LOVES it, he thinks it is his own personal dog until Riley discovers that she wants to play with it and one of two things happens, she goes and snatches it out of his hands causing a big up roar of noise from Huntley or she will play nicely and let Huntley
hold it while she walks around leading them like she is taking them both for a walk.

Mr. Gaston and his "favorite girl" setting up the trees to go outside. It was so nice to have him home for a few days and I think he enjoyed it as well (which I always worry about) well because sometimes life as a mom isn't as glamourous
to others as it is to you :)

In case you were wondering

This has been the attire lately but without the pull up.  Yes, you guessed it we have been potty training and now she perfers to just run around naked all day. We have had success and mishaps, the other night she got in trouble so she went to her room we went to check on her and found she had taken off her clothes and peed on them...SWEET
Huntley has just been growing and being cute, sweet and continues to watch his sister eagerly trying to learn everything she is doing as she is doing it.
She is letting me know what I am doing is just "NOT FAIR"
Doesn't he look so sweet?  He has been real tired lately, he is cutting two bottom teeth.
He is at that stage of eating other foods than just from the "milk wagon"  he is excited!!

She wants to pretend she is a baby since he seems to get most of the attention so she puts on his pj's or does some other act of randomness.  It is starting to get warmer which I am excited about however that means it will begin to be windy and that I am not excited about.

Polar Express

The tickets were bought, the excitement was high when we got to the Polar Express only to find out that our cousins we were suppose to be sitting with were on a different car than us.  We were bummed but then to our surprise they traded tickets with some other people and ended not only getting on the same car as us but sitting right next to us, oh what fun we had!  They gave us cookies and hot chocolate and read us the Polar Express story.  It was a fun filled trip that we hope to do again soon.

Riley and Walker looking out the window trying to see the NORTH POLE

Little Miss Personality was afraid of Santa and was not as excited as the other kids to see the JOlly man himself until he pulled a bell out, she likes things that make noise.

Mr. Huntley was just soaking in his surroundings and chewed on his favorite toy right now: his fist.

Being so sweet to her little brother.

Christmas at Our House

We had a great Christmas, Riley was in heaven with all the new things she received, however the "purse" with the dog in it has been her favorite, she does not leave home without it, or go to sleep for that matter.  If it isn't right next to her when she wakes up she is asking where her puppy is
(she doesn't forget easily).

Uncle Adam took the kids on the four wheeler and Riley couldn't hardly wait until her turn she kept saying "Riley turn" she is short on patience.

Riley after a long day and no nap, just crawls up on Uncle Adam's lap and goes to sleep.  Huntley enjoyed himself....as long as he was fed and someone was holding him he was happy.

The damage done
