Makes me smile

As I lay in bed and Huntley comes and snuggles up next to me
Riley is laying next to me and Jesse is on the edge of the bed
Sometime in the middle of the night they all ended up
next to me.

These little faces make me smile.
They make me want to be a better Mom and person.
They look up to me, they follow my example.
That is a lot of pressure at times.
I am happy they chose me to be their Mom.
After a hard day, Huntley telling me he loves me,
Riley hugging me and telling me I'm the best Mom,
and Jesse wanting to be next to me at all times.

These little moments are what keeps me going even though
at times I want to give up.

Us

My computer hasn't been working properly so I have slacked a lot.
We got family pictures over the holiday break.
I think they turned out amazing.
As I look at them I realize my children are growing up.
Riley is in all day kindergarten and Huntley wants to go to school but hasn't quite mastered
going to the bathroom yet.
I know he will come around to the idea on his terms of course.

Seth has been busy at work and as for me I am trying to keep
up with life that seems to be passing me by rather quickly.
I love staying home with my kids even though some days I
break down and cry.

Its been a while

It has been a while...
2 months and a few days to be exact
A lot has happened in that time
Back to school, Birthdays, blessings, Halloween
These three are what makes life worth living.
Stay tuned, more to come.

I feel lucky...

How did I get so lucky to have met and married this man?
He has been taking care of me for a couple of days, because I have been under the weather.
He does a great job!!
He holds me when I cry and then listens when I need to talk.
I couldn't ask for a better husband, and father.

I am still 9 months pregnant..
No baby, but maybe any day now.
I can't wait to meet the little one--and find out the sex.

I am feeling better.
Sleep sometimes is the best medicine.
Oh and hugs and kisses from children and husband.

It was a nice day

(Riley doing what she does best....being in control)

It was a nice sunny day, the kids played outside, we went to the park, we went for a walk,
a nice gentleman tried to sell me a car but instead we got two balloons, it felt like Spring and then
January was over and in came the COLD weather.

I woke up to a warm baby next to me, he is so snuggly, I don't even remember putting him in bed with me (scary thought).
I went out this morning and the thermometer read -2, seriously?
Huntley woke up and cried at the door when I left.
Mr. Gaston told me he cried almost the whole time I was gone (sad).
It was too cold to take him with me, I came home and made some hot chocolate and whipping cream to go on top
(is there a better way to start your morning?).
Riley said she wanted some but really she wanted to eat the cream from the bowl, so did Huntley (when he wants something he puts his finger in his mouth and pulls it out like he just had a taste -- cutest thing ever)...they ended up eating all of it and getting it all over themselves, I laughed.
Riley wanted to play in the snow but I told it was too cold, when I opened the door she said
"yea, I don't want to go out there, close the door."

Riley's quote of day - "Mom, Dad is my best friend and I love him"

The view is better from the top

Today is my brother n law's birthday, lucky for him he is on a cruise so he doesn't have to endure me singing to him.

Riley and Huntley are in the bath and Huntley is sitting on her pouring water on her head and Riley is telling him that what he is doing is naughty.  Don't you love when your kids mimick what you say...you get a glimpse of what you sound like.  The water is dirty because Riley decided to put soap in her washcloth and then let it sit in water, they don't see to mind but it looks gross.  I think it is time to get out.  I always ask who is first and Riley always says Huntley.   I wash and rinse him off and then let him roam free (his favorite part of bath time).  I get Riley out a few minutes later and she loves to roam free as well...while I am cleaning up Riley comes in and informs me that Huntley has pooped on the floor, in my bedroom nonetheless....
its going to be a good day!

A few years and a video

It is amazing how a few years make such a difference.  So many things have changed since that day some good, some not so good but we made it through it and I am happy he chose me to be by his side in this journey.  Tonight I watched our wedding video, it was HOT but perfect.  It brought back so many memories some tears and it was almost complete except for our kids weren't there, however Riley was pointing each person out saying their names and then kissing her dad everytime she saw him on screen.  When Seth and I would kiss she thought she needed to kiss me...it was cute.  I couldn't remember what our cake looked like and the part where he kind of mushed it in my face but I remember that we were happy and still are. It feels like such a long time ago but I wouldn't trade any part of it or the journey to where we ended up today.

Ramblings

This little handsome fellow has been quite the handful lately I am not really sure what is going on.  Riley is into pushing him around in strollers (which he loves) and carrying him around the house.  When he cries she tells me "I hold him mom" but then when I start to give him to her he cries more.  He climbs on everything, the other day she put him on the couch and he climbed up onto my end table and was just sitting there chillin.  For the most part they get along just great, except when he gets tired or she decided to lay or sit on him but I do believe that is just a sibling thing because I remember my brothers doing that to me.

The day

Huntley likes to smile a lot, well that is when he is fed and rested but isn't that the case for all of us?  I have been enjoying these two lately, even though Riley has been doing a lot of not so nice things she is still the sweetest girl ever.  After the bath this morning we played dragons, you know where she tells you the dragon is coming and you run and hide under the covers and shoot them with laser beams....do you know that game?  I rather enjoyed myself and I made her laugh, I think she likes the one on one time when Huntley is taking a nap.  Later today I went to put Huntley in the car to run a few errands and I slammed his fingers in the door.  He was crying, I was crying and Riley was crying....if you want to make yourself feel like crap just do something non-intentional to your child, I felt
horrible poor little guy.
Last night I had a softball game and she wanted to be by me the whole time, she hugged me told me she loved me and would do whatever I asked it was a nice change of pace.

I worry

Our little angel looks so peaceful while she sleeps. When I first had her she was all I could think and worry about, I checked on her at least 20 times a night to make sure she was breathing, I watched her sleep, as Seth put it the other night how does it feel that you are the first thing she says when she wakes up and the last thing she says before she goes to sleep, I have to admit it feels great, him and her are my life. Now we are bringing a second child into the world, and I can't help but wonder if I am going to be able to give as much love to him as I am to her, and will I be giving to much to him and not enough to her, balance I tell myself and I am sure I will figure it out but I worry. I am 37 weeks pregnant and it awesome to know that Seth and I have created this being that is growing inside my belly. He is very active, seems to do a lot of flips that don't particularly feel good when he does them. We are excited to meet him and I know little Miss Riley will do better than I will at times because she is such a helper and has such a sweet spirit.
