Makes me smile

As I lay in bed and Huntley comes and snuggles up next to me
Riley is laying next to me and Jesse is on the edge of the bed
Sometime in the middle of the night they all ended up
next to me.

These little faces make me smile.
They make me want to be a better Mom and person.
They look up to me, they follow my example.
That is a lot of pressure at times.
I am happy they chose me to be their Mom.
After a hard day, Huntley telling me he loves me,
Riley hugging me and telling me I'm the best Mom,
and Jesse wanting to be next to me at all times.

These little moments are what keeps me going even though
at times I want to give up.

A trip to the dentist

Riley use to love to go to the dentist.
She got to sit in the big chair, get a back massage
and get her teeth cleaned.
She was in heaven until the last time they took x-rays.
They found she had 5 cavities.
I guess her love of sweets has taken its toll.

She was really nervous to come and get shots.
She did awesome and was so brave.
They gave her laughing gas and sunglasses.
She didn't even want to hold my hand.
She is growing up to fast.

The boys did great.
Jesse was very entertained with Huntley.
After about an hour being there they were ready to go.
Jesse started to cry, until his "sissy" gave him a hug.
I love that they show love for each other.

Enjoy time off

The kids had Monday off because of President's Day
I always enjoy having the kids home, no schedules,
late breakfast and lazy days.
The weather has been quite beautiful lately.
It feels more like spring instead of winter.
We went to the park, rode bikes and enjoyed each other.
Huntley had a fall at the park and woke up with a huge bruise on his chin.

I am bubbling

What kid doesn't love bubbles?
When I saw this I knew it would be perfect.
We searched for a while and the kids couldn't agree until we found this.
They were concerned if we were going to have
extra so they could blow some.
Jesse opened his and started blowing but ended up eating it instead.
Happy Valentines from our house to yours!

We were in awe

This is the Gilbert, Arizona Temple
It's beauty on the outside was just a glimpse of
how beautiful it was on the inside.
The kids were in awe, and felt quite at peace while touring.

There were rows of flowers and water gardens which the kids loved.
I know you can't tell by the look on their faces
but they really did love it.
These three little faces are what life is all about.

It is always so exciting to know that we have the opportunity to go inside these sacred walls of the temple before they are dedicated. What a wonderful experience it is for all to see.  I encourage you if you have the opportunity to tour an open house and go inside you won't be disappointed, and any questions you may have there are many people who are willing to answer them for you.

Riley's activiites

Riley started gymnastics a few weeks ago.
Growing up I loved gymnastics and I had a feeling she would as well.
I was nervous about the first day but she did great and of
course she LOVES it.
I guess I should say that is an understatement because she counts
down every week until the next time she gets to go.

Huntley of course wants to do it as well however I think if he got
out there by himself I don't think he would like it as much.

Halloween

A few things about Halloween

It wasn't as cold as it normally is which was nice.
Riley was a Spider girl -- she first wanted to be a flamingo then she saw
this and decided she wanted to be spider girl instead.
Huntley was Mario because of his love for Mario and Luigi
Jesse was a lion, however he slept most of the time so you couldn't tell.

We did the usual city trunk or treat the weekend before and the kids were more interested in the bouncy house than the candy.  It was really crowded and the kids were tired so we didn't stay long.
Halloween night we went around the neighborhood to a few friends house.
Then did the church trunk or treat and called it good.
Riley loved giving away candy at the house tis year.

4th of July

(the best picture I could get of them all together)
The 4th of July was unusual this year.
First off it wasn't hot like it usually is, it was over cast and kind of cold.
The parade was good,
Huntley loved getting candy
Riley liked hanging out with her friends
while Jesse made his first public appearance.
It was weird not having my parents there (usually my mom was running late and my dad would be on the phone with her asking her where she was as the road was about to close.)
 Seth had the day off.
It was so nice to have him home for the day.
We had a BBQ and watched the fireworks it was a great day!

1 month

It has been a month since I had this sweet angel.
It feels like yesterday.
A few things I love about him.
*He is laid back
*He is a good sleeper during the day (we are still working on the night)
*He smells so good after a bath
*He gained 6 oz in one week
*He likes to eat, poop and sleep
*He only cries when he has a bubble in his stomach, if he is cold, or hungry.
*He has brought a new spirit into our home
*He loves to be snuggled up in a blanket

He continues to change each day and the kids LOVE him!

Impact of things

There are moments that have such a HUGE impact in our lives.
There have been many moments for me.
When I married the most wonderful man on the beach.
When I became a Mother.
When I was sealed to my sweet husband, daughter and son.
When I received devasting news my parents were gone.
These moments have defined me, and in someways have made my life better.

I woke up today to two sleeping children next to me.
To see their smiling faces makes me happy.
Riley was so excited to give me my gift and Huntley was just along for the ride.
FAMILY is what life is all about.

Today is Mother's Day.
I miss my Mother more than I can say.
I was sad I could't call her and hear her sweet voice or better yet get one of her hugs.
My brothers and I got together as a family last night.
I have a great family and get togethers are fun.
We ate good food, had good conversations and enjoyed each others company.
My parents would have been happy to have us all together.

My Mother was my ROCK.
She was the one I could turn to about anything.
She knew how to fix any problem and always knew the right thing to say.
She was my best friend.
She always had a positive outlook on everything.
She was my HERO.
She was beautiful.
Happy Mother's Day to a Mother who taught me everything I know!
I love and miss you more everyday!

Boys

My two boys....I can't get enough of them
One is sweet, cuddly, says I love you when you least expect it, but is kind of mad at me right now.
The other, just eats, sleeps, poops, coos and is a laid back baby.
Huntley has been enjoying some Father son bonding time.
He use to want to know where I was all the time, now he asks for "daddy."
I love it!
We have the pleasure of having Seth off of work for a few days.
Have I mentioned how much I love that man!!
It is sure nice to have him home for a little while.

The weather is beautiful

It was a beautiful day outside.
Seth filled up water balloons and we launched them with the balloon launcher.
The kids thought that was great.
Riley and Huntley played in the mini van that Seth brought home for hours.
They thought it was so cool to touch a button to open and close the doors.
We decided to go on a bike ride.
I am sure I was a sight to see.
It was actually easier than I thought it was going to be.
Riley wanted to ride a long ways.
Huntley was just excited to be in the front and say Hi and I love you.
We were going down a hill and she wrecked.
She scraped up her knees but not much else.
She cried but got back on the bike after much pleading and encouraging words.
We got the baby stuff down from the attic.
The kids wanted to try each thing that was brought down.

It was a good day.
I LOVE my family.

There is still a bun

Everyday I feel good in the morning, by the end of the day not so much.
This week has been a little hard.
We had Stake Conference over the weekend, they talked a lot about families.
I miss my parents.
I tend to cry when I think about it for too long.
I have a little anxiety over delivering this baby without my mom.
I know Seth is going to be amazing, and my mom will be there.
It will be a different experience, but I am sure it will go great.

We asked Huntley if he wanted a brother or sister, he said brother.
We asked Riley if she wanted a brother or sister, she said brother, but the next one will be a sister.
Maybe she knows something I don't.

It is to nice to stay in

My friend and I went to the park the other day.
It was lovely except for the wind.
I had the most delicious sandwich and salad.
All I was missing was a strawberry-kiwi drink
that is my favorite these days.

The kids played until their little hearts were content.
Then we came home and they crashed for 2 hours.
It was a perfect day.
The weather is becoming so nice...it is lovely.
We all got a little bit of a sunburn.
It seems the first time it starts to get warm I forget
to put sunscreen on.

Spring Break

(Hanging with Daddy)

Feeding the ducks and running up and down this hill at least 5 times.

(mesmerized by this Rhino)

It is crazy to think that I have a kid in school who actually
has a Spring Break.
Are you sure that she is old enough....it makes me sad that she is growing up so fast.
We decided to go to the zoo.  Riley talked about it for days until we finally went.
What did she want to see first....The Tiger...when we finally got to the tiger it was asleep, but then she began to yell at it and it kind of got up for a few seconds and then laid back down but that was long enough for her to see the face so she was happy.
They were pretty facinated with all of the animals but had enough after a few hours...the heat could have been a factor in that since it was 90 degrees outside.

The next day we went to K-town where they were having their
Pioneer Days.
They have a parade, and carnival.  It was AWESOME.
The kids loved it...especially the carousel.

We also got to visit Robb and Kelly this weekend and I am happy to say they are rockstars and
look GREAT rockin their halos and all.
It was a good weekend and the kids had a great time!!

Snow day

We decided to have a snow day even though there was no snow outside.
The kids bundled up in there hats and gloves.
Then snuggled in their sleeping bags.
It was a great snow day.
All we needed was the snowman out front.

Halloween

Riley got to dress up 3 different times and each time she decided to be something different.  This is the costume she wore to her school party.  She was a cowgirl and at first she wanted to be a power ranger (pink of course) but I couldn't find any costumes so she settled on this one.

We decided to do the city Trunk or Treat this year since our ward wasn't having one.
Huntley was having a bad night and he decided he didn't like his costume.  He pulled and yanked and cried for a good 20 minutes.  I thought he was going to stop but he didn't so we settled on the green pants and just a jacket.

For the Trunk or Treat she decided to be Rapunzel.

Halloween night Huntley decided he wanted to be a dragon but wouldn't wear his hood until we got outside. He was the cutest dragon you have ever seen, he would get so excited and run as fast as his little feet would go and then when he got to the door he would say the sweetest "trick or treat" you have ever heard.
Riley, it was like a sprint for her she would run as fast as she could to each house to see how many she could get to in a short amount of time.
We just stayed around our neighborhood and the kids had a great time!

Pumpkin Patch

(best picture I could get)

We ventured down to the pumpkin patch, where they have a corn maze, a train ride, a goat (that Riley likes to call a dog and pet---however this year it was in a kennel so she couldn't touch it) and lots and lots of pumpkins.  The kids took turns riding in the wheel burrow and it sure got heavy with them and a few pumpkins.
It has become one of our fall/Halloween
traditions and they love it!

Riley decided not to look at the camera
(it is usually one or the other looking not both)
I LOVED the look on Huntley's face--PRICELESS!!

A day in

I can't believe it is already October and 2011 is almost gone.
It was a rainy and cold day yesterday so me and the kids decided to stay in,
have hot chocolate and watch movies.
Actually Riley has found Power Rangers and that seems to be the
only thing she wants to watch and Huntley follows suit.
They do the kick moves and everything it is funny to watch until one of them
gets kicked in the nose and starts to cry.

It snowed a little today we were pretty excited however disappointed after it stopped after a few minutes.
Riley can't wait to go sledding  and build a snow man.

Imagination

These two are BEST FRIENDS except when they aren't
Huntley LOVES her...Riley LOVES him
She doesn't let anyone mess with him, however I have no doubt he can take care of himself
I looked out the window the other day to see her push him right on his face
she skipped away with a BIG smile on her face.  I went and had a talk with her and before I could even finish she ran away crying...and Huntley chased after her.

When I found her she had walked (with no shoes) on the rocks clear up by the flagpole.
I asked her what she was doing...she told me "I am walking to see my daddy" I said it is going to take you a long time because it is about 20 miles away.
I asked her what she would do if a car came, she told me she would just put her
hand up and tell it to stop.

What would it be like to be a kid again?
