A night out

I love this man and the time we get to spend together.

I was looking forward to a night out on the town
A little different than our regular dinner and a movie.
My little brother watched our kids.
We had a nice dinner and then we were
Off to see the Wizard of Oz.
Seth had never been to the theatre before.
I anticipated his review and it was a success.
From the first song "Somewhere over the Rainbow" we were mesmerized
Their voices blew us away.

I hope to go back again soon.

New toy

This is Seth with his new toy.
Yes he has taken up racing again.
Only this time he goes a lot faster and races a lot more.
He loves it, and for being a rookie doing quite well.

The kids love to help him work on his car, watch him race and pretty much think he is the coolest dad ever!!
Riley gets a little worked up when she watches him race, but loves to cheer him on.

It has been fun to watch him, except when cars wreck into him.
Then I have a near heart attack until they let me know he is ok.
That has happened twice so far.

Lovers Day

I didn't want to go out on the blind date
I was over dating and getting my heart broken
After a few months I finally agreed to give it a chance
His smile took my breath away
His laugh was contagious
His kiss was intoxicating
His love was undeniable

7 years ago he asked me to be his valentine and wife
He believes in me more than I believe in myself
He makes me want to be a better person
He accepts me and all my flaws
He makes me feel beautiful

He is my valentine and I am thankful everyday!!
I love you Seth!!

Boys

My two boys....I can't get enough of them
One is sweet, cuddly, says I love you when you least expect it, but is kind of mad at me right now.
The other, just eats, sleeps, poops, coos and is a laid back baby.
Huntley has been enjoying some Father son bonding time.
He use to want to know where I was all the time, now he asks for "daddy."
I love it!
We have the pleasure of having Seth off of work for a few days.
Have I mentioned how much I love that man!!
It is sure nice to have him home for a little while.

Meet Hank

This is Hank.
He is from the wild wild West.
He and his friend Willie (not pictured) came to do an auction,
To earn some money for the Young Women.
They sure did a good job.
It was a fun night.

Isn't he handsome?
I sure love him...even if he is a secret cowboy :)

A New Life

(Mom on the left, Dad on the right)

How do you get back to a new life when you aren't quite sure you want to let go of your previous life?
That is the question I have been asking myself.
The day of and when the dusts settles is the hardest part.
I need her...she was my sounding board.

This weekend was a sucess, we laid them to rest.
It was hard.....we ALL cried a few tears.
At the graveside I stayed there until they lowered them down.
I couldn't leave and even then I didn't want to leave.
My brothers did an AMAZING job at giving their talks and prayers.
I was proud!
The SONGS brought tears to my eyes...they were perfect.
The amount of LOVE and people who came and supported us was overwheleming.
Grateful to know my parents were so LOVED.

Robb and Kelly were there.
It was COMPLETE with them.
They looked AWESOME and were in good spirits.
I wish I could have spent more time with them...but soon enough.

My husband is the BEST thing that has happened to me.
He is AMAZING and was with me the whole time.
He told me there was no other place he would rather be than by my side.
I married a keeper....he keeps me sane most days.
I wouldn't make it without him.
I feel blessed to have him, and humbled by his spirit.

I am going to take a run a this new life, but I know it isn't going to be easy.  She was such a HUGE part of my life.
I am trying to figure out how to do it without them.

I miss them already.

Just the two of us

I feel very lucky and blessed to have met this man.
He has changed my life in more ways than one and made me a
better person because of who he is.
He likes to take Riley on dates....I love it, because it gives them some quality time and then I get to spend some quality time with Huntley.
They went to a movie, where Riley got to have popcorn, candy, and water and spend time with her favorite person.  They were both excited!

Huntley usually acts this way when I leave but not tonight.
He was very sad to not be able to go and he sat in front of this door and cried
for 20 minutes.
He was sure glad to see his daddy when he walked in the door.

Mud Run

Seth participated in a Mud Run with a few of his friends and really seemed to enjoy it.  It looked like fun and at one point I wanted to jump in.
His first of many puddles he had to jump into.....I think he was trying not
to get  his face muddy :)
Everyone that I saw had a hard time with these monkey bars.... Seth did
two at a time like it was nothing....me on the other hand probably would have grabbed on and then fell face first in the water.
The End result - not as muddy as I expected but a whole lot of FUN!!
The course consisted of 3.5 miles and 15+ obstacles, including a slip n slide, a lake of water you had to swim through, bunch of tires, hurdles, ladders to climb, walls to scurry over, logs to crawl over or under and a whole lot of MUD!!

Riley did not want to stand in the picture with her dad seeing how she had just watched him go through all this mud, but Huntley wanted to be right next to him!!

Happy day!!

Today Mr. Gaston turns 31!! How lucky am I to have such an AMAZING husband, father, and friend!!  After a long day at work and even though he is tired he makes sure that  his "favorite boy and girl" know just how special they are!!  He got the morning off to have a massage and then he worked the rest of the day.    Later in the afternoon Riley wanted to take him a ice cream cake and sing him Happy Birthday!!  He didn't want to go out because there was a UFC fight on so we stayed in, some friends came over and brought us dilly bars which made the night complete.

Happy Birthday my love, hope you have a wonderful day and many more to come!!  Thank you for all you do for us!!

I got to ride dumbo...

(Miss Riley debating on whether or not she wants to want to ride the BIG elephant)

It was 3'o clock when the call came in, Riley was asleep on the floor and I had an excited Mr. Gaston on the other end of the phone.  He wanted to ask her a question I told him she was sleeping and he would call back.  When she woke up he called moments later, he asked her if she wanted to go to the circus, she of course said yes he could ask her just about anything and she would say yes, she loves to go places with him.  He got home from work, changed his clothes and they were off to explore what the circus brought to town.

(Yes she is on the horse with pearls.....a girl has to have her accessories :)
Their first stop was the horses (her new love).....she got to ride it around the track 3 times and then didn't want to get off so he let her ride again.  From the story that was told I am sure she still didn't want to get off but it was time to move on to something else.

Just looking at the picture makes me nervous I mean do you see how large this animal is...and she is just a tiny little blob of pink on it.  I asked Seth why he didn't go with her and he said she was fine there was other kids with her and he needed to take pictures which I am glad we have something to document.

(Seth and Riley before leaving the house....Riley was messing around sticking paper in her mouth)

They had a great time and she came home and told me all about it (while jumping up and down in excitement), what she saw, about riding dumbo and then she looked at pictures all the next day telling us she wanted to go back and ride dumbo and the ponies.

Trophy

It was a good weekend for the Gaston's for a few reasons, one my mother in law came into town and two Seth WON his race!! Did I mention Huntley is cutting 4 teeth?  Poor boy, did I also mention his side tooth came in first...weird huh?  Margaret played with Riley and she loved every minute of it, I mean wouldn't you when you have someone's undivided attention and on top of that she took her shopping to try and find a tricycle but no luck and then she took her to the races to watch Seth.  She loved it, well because she got pretty much whatever she wanted ......
so thank you for taking such good care of her.

Seth raced both of his race cars this weekend, first the dwarf (aka superman car) then the bomber (aka the joker car).  In his dwarf car race he was unable to finish the race because he caused two cautions.  When Riley and Margaret got home I asked how the race was, Riley kept saying daddy had a trophy I just thought sweet he won second or third never expecting it to be first place!!  In the heat race race he drew a horrible pill putting him in almost last position, he was in 4th or 5th place on the last lap on the last turn, and there was a wreck and he made it through the race putting him in prime position for the final race.  He led all 15 laps to victory...starting out in the poll position which is the front inside lane.  He describes it "I thought that I had done 15 laps when I looked up at the guy and we were only half way done, I thought it was never going to end."  When there were 5 laps to go he counted down...
it was his night everything just fell into place and
I wasn't there...either way I am proud of him!!

New love

If I didn't know how much he loved me already I would think I was being replaced by his "new love" of racing.  His friend asked him to drive this dwarf car and he would sponsor him, I wasn't thinking anything of it, it will be something fun for him to do, this was before we got the bomber car.  He had to get fireproof gear for this car, this made me worry, my first thought was if anything happened to him I am not sure I could go on, my next thought was that he would be fine and this was going to be a new adventure for him....and again how could I worry when
he was SOO excited?

His first race was in Prescott Valley, when Seth gets nervous he gets in a zone where he is just focused on the task at hand and nothing else.  He was excited to race in a new town on a new track with a new car all for the first time.  I was bummed that I didn't get to go but he had plenty of support.  He did pretty well making his way up to 8th place when the car broke out of 22 cars for his first time I was proud.  The next race was here in town and again he was nervous, excited, anxious all at once.  The races started and on the hot laps he was having trouble with the car it kept stalling, then he came out for the heat race and his car stalled before he finished one lap.  Him and Josh got it fixed for the final event which again had 22 cars, he started in dead last because he didn't finish his heat race.  The race started and he was off and right off of the bat there was a caution, and another one and then he was driving along and did a couple of 360's spinning out of one and continuing on with the race before they could throw a caution.  I was on the edge of my seat biting my nails....he did really well I can't remember what place he came in but he finished and with a few more tweaks and a little getting use to the car and how it drives I think he is going to do quite well.

New season

It is that season again, where every Saturday night we are out at the race track, however this year is a little different.....Seth is not just racing one car this year but TWO.  Seriously, how do I not love it when he gets so EXCITED and does so well.   We just got rid of the two bomber cars we had in the driveway (I was a little thrilled) since they didn't give the best curb appeal to our house.  Then a few weeks later my brother called Seth and said that he found him another bomber car, so back to the races we come.  This car is called the "Joker car" can you see the joker face, and I have to point out the straight line on the front of the car it is like that throughout the car, the inside, engine, and trunk included....my husband the perfectionist (one of the many things I love about him).

The first night of racing it was cold so me and the kids didn't end up going...but here is some of the play by play I got from Seth (and sometimes he really needs to give more details).  He takes his nice paint job out to the track and it comes home all beat up.  He was so excited to race, his heart pumping, adrenaline flowing...he gets out on the race track and is ready to go, he does a few hot laps (practice laps) and then he has a heat race, boom..he gets hit, then he finishes the race and the main event comes, he is driving along and mind you half of these bomber drivers have never raced before and are inexperienced so it is kind of chaotic, then he gets hit again on the passenger side and rips off the metal that he welds to the door to keep it from coming open or for some reason I may not know of.  After all that he said he had a great time and thankfully he came home in one piece and that is the most important thing to me.

Things that make her happy

This is one of the reasons why I love this man, because he paints our daughters toe nails.

He also helped her put on some makeup -- mascara and lipstick

Festivities

The birthday boy had a busy weekend, crawling in the dirt to be in the center of a herd of elk, football games, a corndog to eat, cards and gifts, Youth foundation dinner, winning prizes, friends over for dinner and and blowing out 30 candles.
